Jerry Teters
American Painter
Jerry Teters’ abstract paintings and select prints are increasingly sought after by art collectors who recognize the value of contemporary painting.
Mr. Teters studied painting and drawing in New York City at Pratt Institute, the Art Students League, and the National Academy of Design and holds a MA in Painting from the State University of New York at New Paltz, in the town where he currently lives with his family. He worked as a middle and high school art teacher from 1996-2011. Since 2013, his focus has largely been on creating on creating commissioned work for interior designers and their clients
In a review the Woodstock (NY) Times wrote, “In Teters’ paintings, the horizon lines swing… ascending curves or diagonal lines invoke rhythms and poly-rhythms, while small squares or dots of color provide point and counterpoint in an equivalence of musical and non-objective visual form that has been around as long as abstraction has been in art and in earlier Bauhaus.”
Mr. Teters' paintings, prints and mixed medium works are owned by many private collectors in New York, Virginia, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and California.
